Produce a document and Export to a Word Processor

 

oClients sometimes call wanting to know how to Export their DPS 8.0 documents to a Word Processor.  This is possible only with documents.  A tax form can only be produced in Adobe Acrobat.  To see if DPS 8.0 will allow an Export to a Word Processor, Produce the document.  When DPS 8.0 requests a Document Format, click the down arrow next to the Adobe Acrobat choice.  If appropriate, DPS 8.0 will include both Word and Word Perfect as choices. If those choices are not available, check the following:

 

oIf they are in fact trying to produce a document, make sure that they have a valid PIN entered and are not in Demo mode.

 

oOnce you have confirmed that they are a licensed client with a valid PIN trying to Produce a document, the problem is probably that they have requested some graphic element to be included in their document.  Identifying and electing to not include that element usually opens up the Export to the word processor.  It sometimes help to have them Produce the document and look for graphic elements.  Graphic elements include headers and footers.
